Gigi’s baby naming was this past Saturday, the hottest day of the summer.  I think it got up to 106.  I tried to relax, but between party planning, worrying about germy hands touching Gig, and everyone suffocating in the heat, I just couldn’t enjoy myself until I jumped into the pool after most of the guests left.  It was my own private baptism.  Sort of symbolic I suppose.  I am now officially a mother.  Everything has changed.  During the ceremony, my mom said “you are born the day you become a mother.  Until that day you do not exist.”  Pretty heavy.  When she first said it I didn’t really agree.  But today, I wonder…
