Every year we start our science curriculum with the 5 Senses. I finally got my act together and prepped huge pictures of each sense and laminated them so I don’t have to start from scratch every year. We talked about the 5 Senses as a group and then I instructed the kids to cut out pictures from magazines to match each sense. They LOVED it! I think the fun part was leaving the posters all together on the rug so the kids could just come over and decide where the wanted to tape each picture. I assisted with finding cool cutouts which helped them get even more excited. This activity was super fun and the kids really got it. And now I can easily repeat it next year. Nice!

I’m back to teaching kindergarten after a decade haitis. Was clicking around for bulletin board ideas and, since we’re going into a 5 senses unit, I decided to use this idea for my board. Thanks – it came out great 🙂
That’s great! Welcome back : )
Thanks, Meri, it’s great to be back. The bulletin board came out great (if I do say so myself). Each week we’ve been doing a different sense, culminating in a related project, and I’ve been hanging up a sampling of each on the bulletin board, as it’s completed. I’m really loving being back with this age group. It’s much easier, and inspiring, with the use of internet as a ready resource. I also used your idea of the paper mache hot air balloons to make globes, which I hung from my ceiling.
So great Loren! The board looks amazing. I am going to post the pics! Awesome job! So glad you were inspired by some of my ideas. Thank you!
