I’ve been kind of out of comish with morning sickness. Preg again! Sorry for the lack of posts. (if anyone reads this that is) Anyway, I made this really fun silhouette bulletin board at my school about a month ago. It was a lot of work but worth it. It’s really fun watching all the kids and parents trying to figure out who’s who. Some of the silhouettes are so dead on it’s pretty amazing.
Here’s what we did.
And p.s. if you decide to do this, enlist helpers! I couldn’t have done this by myself. I had lots of teacher help!
1. Every student made a collage from magazine cutouts showing things that interested them or made them smile. The collages were then photocopied so the kids could keep the originals and the background was black and white.
2. We took profile pics of all the kids. My amazing friend, Amanda, made them all into silhouettes on photoshop. It’s an easy process. Here are silhouette directions.
3. Everyone pitched in to cut out the silhouettes. We used exact knives for the cutouts.
4. We matched the silhouettes to the black and white collages and posted nine each to poster board and displayed.
love it!
What a great bulletin board! You are such a dedicated and creative teacher to take on a project like that. (Glad you had help 😀 ) Congrats about your new baby on the way!
Thanks Mary! It’s always great to hear from you. Hope all is well.
