Okay, this was the biggest hit ever and I owe it all to our amazing super nanny Flor! Choosing to work full time and hiring a nanny is a big decision. It’s not for everybody, I know. For us, it has been truly amazing. Flor came to us via an agency and it has been a match made in heaven for over two years now. I remember when she came to interview with two other nannies and the agency owner. It was totally awkward. Ev and I had no idea what to ask. Gigi was three weeks old. One by one, we sat with the nannies and tried to get to know them. Gigi was sleeping next to me in the bassinet and when Flor walked out of the room after her interview, she casually walked by Gigi and as she passed she said “be careful of her blanket.” We looked into the bassinet and her face was covered by the swaddle. Ev and I looked at each other and with our eyes said, “She’s the one.” I remember it like it was yesterday. A small moment that is forever imprinted in my memory. Flor is gentle, kind, super smart, happy and loves to learn. My girls are so so lucky and so are we.
I came home from work to find this happening the other day. The smile on Gigi’s face says it all. Flor whipped up some soapy water in a bowl, put out a tray and some cars and 40 minutes later Gigi came up for air.
Thank you Flor. We feel so blessed to have you in our lives.
