It’s that time of year again. Back to school bulletin boards, getting to know you activities, self portraits to commemorate the beginning of the school year. At the end of last year we asked all the students to write down a bit of advice for the incoming students to their grade. I must admit we had a different plan for the advice originally but ended up with this great back to school bulletin board instead. I work at a Jewish Day School so we tied the bulletin to Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, but this could easily be done for a secular school.
The advice kind of cracks me up, especially from the 4th graders. I guess the 4th grade teachers like everything very neat. Hilarious. My favorite one is hanging at the mouth of the caterpillar. It says, “Just be yourself. Everyone already loves you.” Did you just melt? Kids are the best.
